Unleashed on the Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants strive to reclaim the land they once lost, forcing the young man, Jack, into the battle of his life to stop them. Jack the Giant Killer tells the story of an ancient war that is reignited when a young farmhand unwittingly opens a gateway between our world and a fearsome race of giants. Here's the official synopsis for Jack the Giant Killer: Jack the Giant Killer opens in 3D IMAX on June 15th, 2012. To that end, he has fashioned a magic toy that is actually Cormoran the giant. The film also stars Eleanor Thomas, Stanley Tucci, Ian McShane, and Bill Nighy. In the Duchy of Cornwall of fairy tale days, the sorcerer Pendragon (Torin Thatcher) plots to gain power by abducting the Princess Elaine (Judi Meredith). I’m really looking forward to seeing those giants though. Looks like Bryan Singer might have learnt a thing or two from the horrible fan reaction to his criminally boring Supes reboot, as the following trailer seems to pack in more action and inventiveness in its short running time than the two and a half hours it took to slog through SUPERMAN RETURNS.

Overall, I like the tone and the look of everything, but there’s not enough here to gauge whether or not Singer’s got himself a winner. It was going to be set in the city, and Jackzilla, this giant snowman, attacks a skyscraper, enveloping it and killing. The second one started off ten years later and the kid is all grown up. Ewan McGregor is the epitome of cool, and Hoult seems a fine choice to play the reluctant hero. At the end of part 2 there is this screaming ‘Jackzilla Jackzilla’ and this giant carrot drops on the boat. We don’t see much here, as it plays out very much like a teaser trailer, but I like the feel of it and it sure is nice to see Singer back doing big action set pieces. Based on the classic tale, the fantasy pic tells the story of an ancient war that’s reignited when a young boy ( Nicholas Hoult) unknowingly opens a gate between the world of the humans and the world of the giants. the sorcerer Pendragon plans on abducting the princess to gain power over the kingdom.
